someone gave to me

The best of care for that girl and that boy

teaching manners and kindness, and receiving great joy

but 'Where's Dad?' they may shout and kick and get mad

but whoever heard of a doll with a dad?

Coping with two, yet no other to share

devoting my life ; could I be more fair?

what would it be like to have someone else there?

am I out of balance with just me to care?

I sometimes reflect on the pain that men cause

while washing the nappies and doing my chores

does 'men being men' mean they don't care
